I am so excited that my friend Cory Ann from AC Ellis Photography is coming to visit next week! We're going to be doing a ton of shooting, including a Shoot 'n Learn session at David Burke's studio (more on that soon).

Anyway, CA was going to shoot with me at a wedding on 10/18/08, but my clients had to cancel. Sooo... I was thinking... I would like to offer my services at no charge for anyone getting married (locally) on 10/18/08 that could not afford to hire a professional photographer.

Please send this information to everyone you know as you never know when someone, who knows someone, who has a cousin, that works with a girl that is getting married.

If you are getting married on 10/18, AND you do not have a photographer, please send your names, your story, wedding location and a picture to heather@weddingsbyheather.com.

Motion

Had an amazing time shooting with Beckstead earlier this week. Unfortunately, I became ill and was unable to attend the second day. I'll be posting more as soon as I get a chance, I'm still pretty under the weather.

Beckstead!

I'm so excited, one of my favorite photographers is coming to Pittsburgh!! I will be attending a workshop with David Beckstead this week, it is going to be so much fun. I met David a few years ago in Vegas when we enjoyed a Celine Dion concert together. Don't you judge me... that woman has talent. Anyway the brother of another photog friend of ours works backstage and he got us tickets, it was way cool.

I had a really fun wedding this past weekend and will be posting as soon as possible!

The fabulous Tina!

Ok, so check this out... remember Jess and Mike's wedding that I shot at Penn State in May? Tina is Jessica's sister and was also her MOH. Tina loves photography, so prior to the wedding Jess contacted me asking if she could purchase Tina a gift certificate for one of my private consultations. Tina currently lives in Philly, but came out this weekend so that we could talk shop. We spent Friday together talking about business, Photoshop, workflow, equipment, shooting techniques, etc. Here she is, hard at work.

Saturday, I invited her to come along with us to Stefanie and Tom's wedding and we had a blast!

Stefanie and Tom had a photoboth at their wedding and it was so much fun. On the left is Bob, Jeremy, Tina, Craig and I. And on the right is just Tina, Craig and I.


It was wonderful to have Tina working with us this weekend, she is a perfect fit for the Weddings by Heather team, I hope she visits again soon.

Maggie was a bridesmaid a few weeks ago in Kristie & Mike's wedding and she just emailed me with the news that she is newly engaged! How exciting!




Maggie and Dustin will be getting married in June of next year.

Canon 40D - Includes box, unopened manuals, battery w/charger and strap. Excellent condition. Purchased in February for $1,218. I actually have two of them, both are for sale, $1,000 each, plus shipping and sales tax.

I used them for a few weddings as back-ups until I realized that I couldn't live without the full frame. I am selling both and will purchase another 5D.

Shoot and Learn with DB

My great friend, and fellow photographer, David Burke has been hosting Shoot and Learn sessions recently, you can click here for all of the details. David and I have a blast at weddings, so when he asked me to be a guest speaker at one of his sessions, I was thrilled!! I will speaking on workflow, specifically Lightroom, and how I use it to process my images. I will also be showing some of the new, really awesome features of Lightroom Beta 2. We will be meeting next Tuesday, June 3rd at 6:00pm at his studio in Mt. Lebanon and anyone is welcome!!

Can you believe this weather?!? I love it!! Had a fun engagement session yesterday with a great couple... will be posting images soon. For now, enjoy the flowers.

Equipment For Sale

I'm starting to get really excited for the upcoming 2008 wedding season, and have decided to re-tool. As such, I have a few pieces of equipment for sale, as seen below. I thought I would post to see if anyone is interested before attempting to sell them on eBay. Let me know!

Canon 30D - Includes box, unopened manuals, battery w/charger and strap. Good condition with normal wear. Purchased for $1,200.






Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS - Includes lens hood and case. In good condition and shows normal wear. Purchased for $1,700.




Both items were sent to Canon on a regular basis for calibration/regular maintenance.

Karen Neuburger

Remember when I posted about socks that I needed for the hospital. If not, check out this post.

Photography Courses

I will be teaching two courses this semester at the Community College of Beaver County. Digital Photography and Photoshop, both for beginners.

The time is near!

You are looking at a 9 month, full term, pregnant belly; and this image is my way of ceremoniously announcing that we are closed!


Seriously, I need to take some time for myself and my family. I will be induced next week, which means that I have one week to prepare for Christmas AND the arrival of a new life. To say that I feel overwhelmed is an understatement. I have, once again, worked harder and longer than I intended.

All holiday deadlines have passed in terms of products, and please understand that these deadlines are imposed by my suppliers and their carriers, not directly by me!

I will post when possible, but may be slow to respond to emails and voicemails.

I found socks!

I found these wonderfully cozy, plush Karen Neuburger socks online shortly after I posted last week. The only problem was that they didn't have any rhinestones on them.

In a moment of pure insanity, I went to the craft store and bought the supplies to add my own sparkle! I'm clearly not thinking like a normal person when I choose to spend hours gluing Swarovski crystals to my socks.

Holiday Information

All album and specialty product deadlines for the Holiday's have already been communicated directly to my clients, but I wanted to post the print order deadline for anyone wishing to order prints.

The 2007 client galleries have all been re-activated, the password is the grooms last name, all lowercase.

Please place your print orders by Friday November 30th. Any order placed after that date will not arrive until 2008.
