Deb & Tim

Had a lovely evening at the Morning Glory Inn with Deb and Tim shooting their anniversary session. Deb's daughter Erin is getting married this August. Tim is an incredibly thoughtful husband, he contacted me about a month ago because he wanted to surprise Deb on their anniversary with a portrait session. Tim not only proposed to Deb at the Morning Glory Inn, but they were married there five years ago as well!

Lauren & Chris

Had a great time yesterday with Lauren and Chris in Oakland for their engagement session. They will be married on August 8th.

These two were so fun and so easy and thankfully it didn't rain!

I think that this shot would make a great 'save the date' card.

I can't wait to see Lauren as a bride, she's gorgeous!! Lauren is a NICU nurse at Magee, I have had several NICU brides and I am in complete amazement at how they care for those tiny, sweet little babies.

I love the way the sun was shining through the trees.

Thanks guys, I can't wait until the wedding!

Fine Art Textures

Spent quite a bit of time experimenting with textures in Photoshop, what do you think?

I will probably only use these textures on a very limited number of images, but I thought it was fun to play.

Erin & Mike

Had a fun afternoon with Erin and Mike on Sunday in Oakland.

I thought that Erin looked fabulous in her funky shirt and shoes.

Mike was a lot of fun... and he knows what he did to embarrass Erin in this image.

Loved these trees around the Carnegie Museum.

I liked the way he was looking at her in this image.

Erin and Mike will be married August 30th and I can't wait! Thanks for a great day, guys!

She said yes!!

Louis and Heather are engaged!! I was so honored (and impressed) when Louis contacted me to capture his proposal to his girlfriend Heather. The fact that I am able to witness moments like this can be truly overwhelming. I think more men should plan ahead and hire a photographer for this moment, I would LOVE to have images from when Craig proposed.

They arrived at Mt. Washington as I cleared tourists from the overlook. She had no idea that I was there (remember, I'm a ninja!).

I think this image summarizes how Heather was feeling!

I like this image because you can see their reflection in the glass doors.

All of these moments were so real, completely unscripted, and absolutely beautiful.

They went to the Georgetown Inn for dinner and I was able to capture a few more images.

Congratulations guys, I am thrilled for both of you!!!

Jaime & Ryan - Engagement

Had a blast with Jaime and Ryan in South Park on Sunday. These two are so much fun, we were playing on the swings when Ryan performed his dismount.

I had to keep it pretty clean at this point as there were children watching.

Look at those gorgeous blue eyes!

Of course once we left the children's area, we could do whatever we wanted!

Jaime and Ryan will wed on August 31st at Oglebay Resort and I can't wait!

Christine & Danny

Had a fabulous engagement experience with Christine and Danny in Oakland on Thursday, we began on the carousel!

My wonderful friend Joanne shot with me (we have a blast shooting together), below is one of her images.

And this is why I like having her along... she will do anything for a shot, just like me!

Found this great dumpster/construction area near the Cathedral of Learning.

More construction paraphernalia.

This is a classic Joanne shot.

Joanne caught me in action!

Christine and Danny will be tying the knot in 2009.

Amani & Patrick - Engagement

Had a great time on Saturday with Amani and Patrick at the Cathedral of Learning on the University of Pittsburgh Campus. They are both officers in the Army and recently finished their tours in Iraq.

You would never know by looking at her, but Amani was up almost all night on the red eye flight from California to Pittsburgh. I would have been a disaster.

Joanne Bartone was gracious enough to shoot with me, she took this shot of me workin' the light.

Below is the resulting image. Yep, I know that shooting close with a wide angle will give distortion (hence the looooong fingers), but I like it!

Joanne grabbed this shot, which will look fabulous in their custom designed guest book.

Joanne will be shooting Amani and Patrick's wedding on March 24th.

**History Lesson**
The Cathedral of Learning, a historic landmark, is the second-tallest education building in the world—42 stories and 535 feet tall.

Begun by Chancellor John Bowman in 1926 and dedicated in 1937, the building was realized with the help of contributions from men, women, and children throughout the region and the world. During the peak of the Depression, when funding for the project became especially challenging, school children were encouraged to contribute a dime to "buy a brick."

Trivia tidbit: The Cathedral of Learning has 2,529 windows.

Jen & Ryan - Engagement

Had an awesome time with Jen and Ryan at Phipps Conservatory on Monday. It was really nice because there were only a few people there, we basically had the place to ourselves!

I love brick and I love archways, so this was a good location for me!

Ryan was awesome, I didn't have to ask him to have fun, he just made the moments happen.

It was a little chilly outside, but nothing we couldn't handle. At least they had each other, my cameras did nothing for me!

Found a pile of leaves at the Cathedral of Learning, and luckily it wasn't wet underneath.

Jen and Ryan will be married May 5th at Heinz Chapel in Oakland.

Had an awesome e-session with Caroline and Matt on Friday in Oakland. We started at Phipps Conservatory and made our way around the Pitt campus. The weather was amazing, it was clear and beautiful, just a little chilly.

I love shooting into the sun!!

I can't say enough about these two, they were so much fun and easy to shoot.

Caroline and Matt will be wed on October 6, 2007.

Becky & Aaron - Engagement

In spite of the rain, I had a great time on Wednesday with Becky and Aaron at the Pittsburgh Zoo.

These guys are great, there is no doubt that they were made for each other!

Aaron helped me out with this shot, we were lovin' the jellyfish.

Becky is so much fun (see above), but she was also able to give me the serious, attitude look. She's very talented. :)

Love brick walls.

Becky and Aaron will be married March 24th and I can't wait!

Jill & Adam - Engagement

I had a FABULOUS engagement session yesterday!!! We met Jill and Adam in the Strip District for an urban e-session and had a blast!! When we first arrived a few of Pittsburgh's finest were gracious enough to allow us to borrow their motorcycle.

Jill & Adam will be married on July 29th and I can't wait!! Not only are they gorgeous, but they are so much fun!

We were so lucky with regards to the weather, the sky looked ominous a few times, but we only saw a few minutes of rain. And then the sun came out and gave me this shot. Unbelievable.

Marilyn & Bill - Engagement

These two are the best!!!! We had a great time shooting their engagement session in, and around, Phipps Conservatory.

Marilyn & Bill will be married on September 2nd, and I can't wait!!!

We took a little break in the cafe when I noticed the green wall... too fun!

Whoa, she's gonna be a fabulous bride!!

They are a very affectionate couple, which made shooting them easy and fun!

On a side note, Marilyn's cousin Bob owns Videosaic, and is currently the only videographer that I recommend.
